Cord : Nobelcord
Nobelcord is the designation on detonating cord (pentrit), distributed in Scandinavia by Orica Mining Services in four variants; 20, 40, 80 and 100 g/m.
Nobelcord has a PETN (pentaerythrol tetranitrate) explosive core. The explosive is encased by a plastic sheeting and several layers of yarn, finally protected by a flexible plastic coating.
In general Nobelcord is used for presplitting, smooth blasting and dimensional stone blasting with strong demands on the final contour (instantaneous initiation of boreholes).
Initiation of Nobelcord usually is done by E-cord (5 g/m) or F-cord (10 g/m).
