Black Powder
Black powder is our oldest explosive. The raw materials in black powder have remained the same for over six centuries. In principle, the production method has also remained the same, although the use of modern production equipment has improved the product.
Black powder is a mechanical mixture of potassium nitrate (≈ 75 %), sulphur (≈ 10 %) and charcoal (≈ 15 %). The powder is supplied in granulated form, polished with graphite and screened to the defined grain size.
