Uni tronic™ Basic Operations
Detonators are loaded into holes without assigned delay timing. The Uni tronic™ 500 detonator has a "flag tag" with a bar code at the surface end which duplicates the unique detonator ID in the hole. This flag tag is scanned and the unique detonator ID allocated a delay timing either by manually entering the delay on the Scanner key pad OR utilising the convenient auto-increment facility in the scanner. Prior to clearing the pattern and connecting the blast box, the wiring network can be tested for full integrity with the inherently safe, hand held Network Tester.The harness wire can be connected at this stage or later in the process if loading is still underway. The ID-timing data is stored in the Scanner until transferred to the Blast Box, via infrared or Bluetooth, when the pattern is cleared and everyone is at a safe distance. At this stage the Blast Box communicates with the detonators for the first time; programming the allocated delay time, testing functionality and providing the charging energy. It is now ready for the fire command.

Uni tronic™ 500 Detonators
The Uni tronic™ 500 detonator contains a PETN base charge and electronics inside a copper shell, which provides appropriate dynamic shock resistance for most applications. The detonator fits into all conventional boosters. Legwire conductors are copper-clad steel for tensile strength, and the tough polypropylene insulation provides excellent resistance to the abrasion conditions of normal mines and quarries. At the surface end the Uni tronic™ 500 detonator has a "flag tag" with a bar code which duplicates the unique detonator ID in the hole and makes for quick and easy scanning for later allocation of delay times. The surface connector terminates the legwire, and connects quickly and easily to the harness wire
Uni tronic™ Scanner
The Uni tronic™ scanner is a convenient hand-held device for use on a blast pattern. Small, lightweight, easy to use, and very quick to scan and capture detonator IDs. Four function buttons allow the user to quickly learn methods of deleting, adding, editing etc, with checks to prevent mistaken deletion of data. A key feature of the scanner is allocation of delay times via the auto-increment (or auto-decrement) option, allowing the user to quickly walk any row in any direction and assign delay times to the detonators with little chance of error
Uni tronic™ Blast Box
The Uni tronic™ Bast Box has a capacity for 800 detonators. The detonators, via the harness wire may only be connected to the Blast Box at a point of safety after the blast area has been cleared. Once connected the Blast Box charges all detonators in parallel and programs them one by one, and in the process checks and reports on their condition via the full 2-way communications. This process takes only 0.3 seconds per detonator, making programming very quick. Detonators connected to the harness but not reported by the scanner are identified as "globals". A global delay time can be assigned to these detonators. The Blast Box is rugged and portable with an operating temperature range of -15 to +60degC.
Uni tronic™ Network Tester
The Uni tronic™ Network Tester is small, lightweight and quick to use. It tests harness wire circuits for electrical leakage and continuity. The first function reliably indicates damaged legwires, while the second shows both short- or open-circuit conditions and is a useful diagnostic tool. It is inherently safe because both voltage and current are limited to values too low to initiate any known electric or electronic detonator.
