Exel TD
The Exel™ TD detonator is made up of a Strength 10 capsule, assembled in a connector which purpose is to delay and initiate detonating cord lines. This product is also used to initiate blasting from safety zones and, therefore, it is available in spool.
Non-electric Exel™ TD detonators include 4 main elements:
- Strength 10 capsule, assembled inside a connector designed to initiate the detonating cord.
- Yellow shock tube, which conveys the signal to the delay capsule. When the tube is initiated, it transmits through the interior a low-energy shock wave, which initiates the delay mixes.
- A label indicating the delay time and the length of the detonator.
- A “J” connector, a device that connects the detonating cord to the non-electric tube.
The Exel™ TD detonator is used mainly in open pit blasting and in operations that require the initiation of the detonating cord.
